I have only heard 2 songs of yours, and the first one I heard (Lazy Afternoon, I think) KVMR, Nevada City, CA I managed to find the CD and bought it. This morning (6/4, my 16th wedding anniversary) I heard on KVMR - Breakfast Blues, but I thought the DJ said B.B. Kramp, but she did say Hossradish was the CD. I googled Breakfast Blues and found it is a Trout Fishing in America Song...then I googled B.B. Kramp and got nothing...then I did Hossradish and FOUND YOU! And, thus have mailed away for Hossradish. You are absolutely hilarious and sound, certainly on B-fast Blues, like some old, ancient, deltablues, blacker than black singer...I'm looking forward to getting this CD and enjoying the crap out of it. Dear Baby Gramjps--I'm an old fan of yours who has lived on Vashon for almost 30 years and have seen a number of your performances on the island, the most recent at the fundraiser for the Backbone campaign and Stephan and Aulette's CD release party. Roxy introduced us on one of your performances at the Blue Heron in the 80s. During your performance last week you had a young fellow selling CDs and DVDs for you. I gave him a check made out to you for $35 in exchange for your early CD and your DVD, thinking that I would get the best sample of your work that way and the fun of a visual performance by you as well. It wasn't until I broke out the DVD to show it to a group of folks at a party that I discovered that I had been given both of your CDs and no DVD. I'd like to make it right--not by sending back a CD but by sending you whatever additional $$$$ is necessary and having you or one of your minions send me the DVD in return. How can we arrange this? Your work remains as unique and wonderful as ever--it's great to see you out there still trucking! People must have told you that in the late 40s or early 50s there was a Saturday radio show in NYC that used Teddy Bear's Picnic as a theme song. This whole damn thing is a hoot. I claim to my wife that the front picture on the CD is bogus. She is not able to see this,even although she was drug to one of your performances. It was in La Grande, Oregon maybe ten years ago. But I know better. Baby Gramps never uses fingerpicks, he may use a capo but i have never seen it, it is the wrong damn hat - this a staged photo with a younger man inhabiting the beard. It is fun but wrong. My wife has never done seen you preform enough. She hasn't had the advantages I've had, like when I spied Baby Gramps filling his bottle of stop-leak from an outdoor faucet. Goddamn. Baby Gramps plays the daylights out of that old National. Keep it up.

GRAMPS!!! I like the new CD... It now lives in the CD player. Maybe we should get together fer some bacon fruit roll-ups at sometime or another. They're meaty and fruity!!! And best of all you can just peel and eat!!! I can cook real well too. It only takes a minute to whip up some fettucine salmonella. And I know you haven't tried my chicken tetracycline either. We can wash those down with some biscuits and gravy flavored sodee pops. I saw some kid playing blues/folk/countyish music on the sidewalk at bumbershoot who was amazing and i talked to him for awhile after he played but i can't remember his name. I just got the DVD at The Seattle Folklife Festival. Thank you so much for putting it out. The quality is truly remarkable. The inclusion of the photos is a real treat! I had to take a break while viewing it because my face hurt from smiling. A memory: Seeing you at the Wailers reuninon show years ago with Xmas lights in your beard. I first saw baby gramps at the string cheese full moon concert in portland or. I really injoy his style of playing I then saw him play in santa cruz at a little bar up in the santa cruz mountains. i made him a really cool hat band for anyone of his cool krazy hats. keeping on playing baby gramps home to see you soon, justinhale.
