Hope to see you this summer, maybe at a Dylan/Willie Nelson show. Joyce Weber USA - Tuesday, June 08, 2004 at 11:41:22 (PDT) I just saw you play at O.U.R. fest and I can't tell you how happy your performance made me. Thanks for being so fantastic! Tina <chamkm58@mail.buffalostate.edu> Jamestown, NY USA - Monday, June 07, 2004 at 18:53:57 (PDT) I have only heard 2 songs of yours, and the first one I heard (Lazy Afternoon, I think) KVMR, Nevada City, CA I managed to find the CD and bought it. This morning (6/4, my 16th wedding anniversary) I heard on KVMR - Breakfast Blues, but I thought the DJ said B.B. Kramp, but she did say Hossradish was the CD. I googled Breakfast Blues and found it is a Trout Fishing in America Song...then I googled B.B. Kramp and got nothing...then I did Hossradish and FOUND YOU! And, thus have mailed away for Hossradish. You are absolutely hilarious and sound, certainly on B-fast Blues, like some old, ancient, deltablues, blacker than black singer...I'm looking forward to getting this CD and enjoying the crap out of it. God bless GOOGLE and Baby Gramps!! Linda Berlin <linda.berlin@dgs.ca.gov> Sacramento, CA USA - Friday, June 04, 2004 at 09:28:32 (PDT) Dear Baby Gramjps--I'm an old fan of yours who has lived on Vashon for almost 30 years and have seen a number of your performances on the island, the most recent at the fundraiser for the Backbone campaign and Stephan and Aulette's CD release party. Roxy introduced us on one of your performances at the Blue Heron in the 80s. During your performance last week you had a young fellow selling CDs and DVDs for you. I gave him a check made out to you for $35 in exchange for your early CD and your DVD, thinking that I would get the best sample of your work that way and the fun of a visual performance by you as well. It wasn't until I broke out the DVD to show it to a group of folks at a party that I discovered that I had been given both of your CDs and no DVD. I'd like to make it right--not by sending back a CD but by sending you whatever additional $$$$ is necessary and having you or one of your minions send me the DVD in return. How can we arrange this? Your work remains as unique and wonderful as ever--it's great to see you out there still trucking! People must have told you that in the late 40s or early 50s there was a Saturday radio show in NYC that used Teddy Bear's Picnic as a theme song. Every time I hear it, it still makes me smile Thanks again Joan Kirshner Joan Kirshner <Joan.Kirshner@ssa.gov> Vashon, WA USA - Thursday, June 03, 2004 at 15:12:44 (PDT) The fans of Freakatorium eagerly await your unshavenly rhapsodidic vocalinguistical virtuosities johnny fox <curator@freakatorium.com> New York, ny USA - Sunday, May 09, 2004 at 14:52:16 (PDT) You are terrific. we saw you at the Oregon Country Fair in July 2003.....and got your email to late to see you at the Powerhouse in Sebastopol. If you are reading this, then you probably arent getting bitten by mosquitos. Thank Goodness for that. Just wanted to sign your book and say that when my brother and I saw you a few years ago out at Hornings we had the swellest time ever. What was even better was afterwards when you won that eating contest after swallowing all of those deviled eggs. Grampy, I learned you may know how to make me and mine giggle and twitch, but you eat better eggs than Roberto Eggelton, who was the runner up eater if I can recall. Happy New Year!! Samantha Pritchard <foofoolina@yahoo.com> Eugene, Or USA - Sunday, January 18, 2004 at 16:19:34 (PST) This whole damn thing is a hoot. I claim to my wife that the front picture on the CD is bogus. She is not able to see this, even although she was drug to one of your performances. It was in La Grande, Oregon maybe ten years ago. But I know better. Baby Gramps never uses fingerpicks, he may use a capo but i have never seen it, it is the wrong damn hat - this a staged photo with a younger man inhabiting the beard. It is fun but wrong. My wife has never done seen you preform enough. She hasn't had the advantages I've had, like when I spied Baby Gramps filling his bottle of stop-leak from an outdoor faucet. Goddamn. Baby Gramps plays the daylights out of that old National. Keep it up. keith <ckbunnell@earthlink.net> spokane, wa USA - Sunday, January 18, 2004 at 01:14:19 (PST) hey gramps and fellow weirdos-- i wanted to point out to gramps specifically (but perhaps it interests all you who love grampy's musick) that the complete emmett miller recordings (all of 'em digitally remastered from the original 78's) along with a bunch'o old photos and chapbook are out there for a pretty good price. gramps, perhaps you can contact Jack Norton directly and have em give you an xmas present (you played with him in eugene). i hope it's ok to post something like this...this is not sposed to be an advertisement, i'm not jack norton, i've nothing to gain. http://www.jacknorton.net hope i can make it up to the show at the Swiss in Tacoma, but if not, this is what you get from me for the holidays. winona rider <lorax317@yahoo.com> truth or consequences, NM USA - Friday, December 12, 2003 at 15:28:40 (PST) I'm a bit late getting back to you, but just wanted you to know I caught your act at the "Crash Landing" in Anchorage, AK back in '81 and had a great time. Your witty performance and musical prowess of guitar and voice, was refreshing and innovative. I especially loved your song, Charge It To The Dust, which was hauntingly beautiful. This song does not appear on your CDs or DVD...Is there anyway to get a recording of this song? I appreciated your folksy kindness in taking the time to talk music w/ my 11 year old son (and me too), share stories, as well as allowing us to play your incredible, National, steel body guitar. What a treat! I may never play my Gibson or any guitar the same way again. Curtis was equally as generous and did your tunes justice w/ his accompaniment w/ various instruments. We look forward to hearing you play again and will spread the word about Baby Gramps….. Matt MacKinnon <mackinnon70@comcast.net> Olympia, WA USA - Monday, November 03, 2003 at 01:57:53 (PST) Thurs. Oct.9th--Baby Gramps, Sandman, and Jack Norton. Sam Bond's Garage, Eugene OR. this is tonight and i'm 2000 miles away, so i hope someone else takes my place in the front row. we all know Gramps, Sandman is a post-modern rappin' cowboy balladeer. Jack Norton is a young version of Grampy, spittin and a-stompin with equal parts Tiny Tim/Tom Waits. it's an incredible line-up. alex USA - Thursday, October 09, 2003 at 13:16:56 (PDT) GRAMPS!!! I like the new CD... It now lives in the CD player. Maybe we should get together fer some bacon fruit roll-ups at sometime or another. They're meaty and fruity!!! And best of all you can just peel and eat!!! I can cook real well too. It only takes a minute to whip up some fettucine salmonella. And I know you haven't tried my chicken tetracycline either. We can wash those down with some biscuits and gravy flavored sodee pops. If ya don't like them sausagy, creamy, biscuit flavored sodas, then we can drink some of those chili cheese dog flavored sodee pops!!!
